Casual Quilters Annual Donation Quilt

Each year the local quilt guild makes a quilt for the Garden Tour Walk in Brighton.  The Garden Tour Weekend is set for July 12 & 13. Tickets will be on sale for the walk in June.

The Quilt that the team made turned out sew beautiful that it's creating a lot of buzz.  I am proud to say that I was the lead for the quilting project and selected the style, quilting and layout of the entire project.  There were 20 additional ladies that helped make the quilt. The help included piecing blocks, pressing blocks, quilting and binding.  Once all of the blocks were turned in I then designed the quilt to best show off the blocks and quilting.

When looking at the layout of the quilt I felt it was best to highlight the garden tour and quilt a wow factor in the center.  The center quilting design was designed by Tammy Oberlin and purchased from her online store.  http://store.tkquilting.com/2389b.html

The quilt blocks came from the pattern "Twice as Nice" by Glad Creations. When designing my thoughts were to have an open center for the wow factor.  So the center block became the focus with the solid block and elegant quilting.

The idea of taking squares around the center block and then echoing the squares around the entire quilt.

The processed will go to support our local shelter Lacasa. http://www.lacasacenter.org/ Once the tickets are ready for purchase we will let you know how and where to purchase.  I am sure you do not want to miss the opportunity to win this winner of a quilt.

Thank you for helping make this years quilt a garden that blooms and is very special.
Denise
