Free Motion Frenzy Event

During the past week I had the opportunity to teach at ten of the Quality Sewing locations around the Seattle area.  Each store hosted a lecture demo with trunk show.  We had a wonderful time and the students were overwhelmed with over 2 hours of tricks, tips and lots of learning.  While teach at these events they asked how to access the information that was given during the event.  So I am writing this week to post many of the tips and trick for your free motion quilting world.

Tension and understanding sewing machine tension is very important to have a great sewing and quilting day.

Samples

• Thread colors and stitch length

• Mark your samples with how you achieved what you were doing
• Threads weight and type 
• batting, fabric 
• tension 
• automation or free motion

Home sewing machine tension is different for Long Arm machines

• Change bobbin more than top

• Heavy on top rarely bobbin

• Second bobbin case

Check tension every time you change

• Bobbin

• Thread

• Needle

Clean your bobbin case and bobbin case area. 
Keep your upper tension clean and lint free.
